Project Status - Active and Ongoing

Project Description - My Current Main Project is to start typing up some tutorials. These tutorials are going to be geared for beginners, and by beginners I mean any one who wants to start learning how to program, even if they only heard of C++ when the woke up and decided to give it a try. This means the tutorials will be simplistic and mostly step by step, but they will also explain the what they do and why the do it. Priority of Project - High enough to take up most of my free time.

Well as you read in the Projects Description, I've decided to write up a few tutorials, but before I can actually start writing I have to choose what aspects will be looked at and explained. I will also have to make sure the tutorials are easy to understand and will work for everyone, this can be very difficult as I do not wish to make these tutorials boring for those who have experience or a gift with coding or computers, and yet those who have neither of these need to be able to understand what I type easily. Also as there are many different compilers and tools out there (and most of them cost a fortune) I can only test these tutorials with a limited range of equipment. In the end all I can really do is try and maintain a balance of simple and advanced and provide as many fail safes as I can.

I have always thought of myself as a person who loves to learn, I go out of my way to learnt the facts that others would walk right past. All of my tutorials will have little extracts of little known or interesting facts, some people may think this is a waste of time but a favourite quote of mine is Knowledge is Power and if you look closely you will see it doesn't say the knowledge has to be apparently useful.

Below you will find a list of the tutorials I plan to write and a short description about what the will do. This list is by no means set in stone but at the moment I can not see any reason why it would need to be changed. Also if any changes are made they will be posted on the home page.

Up Coming Tutorials

1. What is C++ and why should I learn it
   • This tutorial will give you a brief introduction into C++ and some of its advantages. This tutorial will probably be released very Quickly as it wont actually require any coding.
2. Getting what you need, and setting it up
   • This tutorial will show you a few different ways you can get started with C++, like which compilers you should use and a few links to get free ones. The main feature I plan to work into this tutorial is how to set up the compilers, and I do not mean just how to get them working, I will show you how to customize your comipler and explain some of the terms you will be seeing. I plan to also try and explain a bit into what a compiler or IDE really is.
3. 'Hello World' Your first program, and coding techniques
   • God bless the Hello World Program, almost every programmer will know what it is, almost every language has a simple application that simply displays the word Hello World, This tutorial will go a bit into the history of the Hello World Application and then teach you how to code it. Another very import part of programming that will be taught in this tutorial is the importance of having an organized and understandable coding technique.

There will be more after these tutorials but I don't want to put to much on my plate, so ill just finish these ones and then post what i plan to do next.
